Another Craving

2/12/2016

Apparently, my cravings are becoming really outspoken this week. Not only did I write about my love affair with pizza, but I also can’t stop thinking about the delicious company EatPastry.

Unfortunately, my quest to find a store near my university that actually has their products has been futile. When I discovered this horrible fact, my face resembled the blubbering, crying emoji with the sad eyes.

I shall now list the numerous reasons* why I love this San Diego-based company.
  1. Their mission statement: “Our goal is to make you happy, so we make sure everything we create tastes good and isn’t made from crap. It’s that simple.”
  2. The company is entirely vegan and non-GMO certified.
  3. They have a line of gluten-free products that are all certified as such. They have special procedures in place to reduce the risk of cross-contamination among their gluten-free products, including testing their batches for the presence of gluten.
  4. Their Instagram page is a tantalizing presence on my feed.
  5. I could eat an entire container of their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (and if I had my way, that’s how I would spend my Valentine’s Day as a single 20-year-old). Of course, if you wanted to actually “bake” the cookie dough, that’s possible too!
  6. Their Biscuit Mix makes biscuits that are like the “glutened” kind! They have the consistency and flakiness that biscuits are supposed to have. The only issue that I’ve found with some of their products (mostly this mix) via other people is the garbanzo flour flavor; I don’t mind the taste, but others have found it a little strong.
  7. The mixes are super easy to make and only require a few extra ingredients that most people already have in their pantry/kitchen.
  8. I made Apple Pie Muffins with their Muffin Mix, and they were a hit (as was expected).
  9. Their Chocolate Cake Mix is what a chocoholic dreams are made of. When I found this product at a health food store back home, I made mini cupcakes. My brother and sister were literally waiting by the oven for the timer to go off. The empty plate with a few remaining crumbs five minutes later are a testimony to the chocolatey, perfectly moist, baby cupcakes.
  10. They have a Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough that I am constantly searching for.
*All of the products mentioned are from their gluten-free line.
