Crisp-tastic

10/2/2017

In the two years (*GASP*) since I last wrote about Square Organics (aka one of my all-time favorite companies EVER), they’ve released a variety of new products, some of which I’ve had the glorious opportunity of eating (I mean, “trying”).

One of their new additions came in the form of an entire line of Crisp protein bars. These bad boys are the essence of Squarebars—just without the decadent chocolate coating. The bars are cute lil square chunks of 10g of crispy, sprouted plant protein. Free of gluten, dairy, soy, and refined sugar (!!), the bars come in Vanilla Cashew, Toasted Coconut, and Chocolate Sea Salt. I’ll admit that I downed the Toasted Coconut in like two seconds, so that was probably my favorite bar (I’m a sucker for coconut). The Chocolate Sea Salt was, surprisingly, unsweet, which I was a fan of. Also, and I’m sure that I’ll do a poor job of explaining this: The chocolate was more of a subtle foundation to the bar, rather than being a predominant flavor.

The Vanilla Cashew was another winner, in my book. The chunks of cashew and the delicate thread of vanilla were a delicious combo. I really love how Organic Cashew Butter is the first ingredients in these bars; it’s such an overlooked, yet wonderfully healthy fat!

I have to confess: The chocolate-coated bars will always be my go-to. (I’m looking at you, Chocolate Coated Cherry!) They’re the perfect balance of sweetness and protein, so I don’t feel badly about eating their new addition to the line, a bar called Chocolate Coated Cookie Dough. Unlike some of their other chocolate-coated creations, this bar’s center is smooth and creamy and oh-so-decadent. How they were able to perfectly mimic the texture and flavor of cookie dough is mind-blowingly awesome! (Hint: It’s the cashew butter base!)

And GOOD NEWS: If you enter the code askingalexandra before you place your order (because I know you’re already heading to their online store), then you’ll get 20% off!!
