Hi, everyone! I’ve been sitting on this gluten-free finds piece for a while now, anxiously waiting to gather the most material and deliver it all at once, and today is finally that day! Welcome to November (Thanksgiving does exist!), and here are some of my favorite gluten-free finds from the past few months! So Delicious New Yogurt Flavors I have a handful of brands that I’m fiercely loyal to, and So Delicious Dairy-Free is one of these companies. Their ice cream is TO DIE FOR, and I’m so grateful for their yogurt. My weekly grocery list includes stocking up on a mixture of Raspberry and Vanilla yogurts, but I’ve also seen (and eaten) Chocolate, Unsweetened, and Strawberry in my local grocery stores. I stopped in front of the So Delicious yogurt section a month ago and was shocked to see TWO NEW FLAVORS! I immediately start grinning like a fool (I apologize to the people around me who probably thought I was crazy), and grabbed a container of both Peach and Key Lime. I’m actually not a fan of peaches, but I wanted to give the yogurt a try (you know how some people don’t like tomatoes but love ketchup? same thing). It was actually really yummy! But my favorite was the Key Lime. HOLY COW—it tasted just like key lime pie but without the graham cracker crust. The flavors were so bright and delicious, and I’ve bought it every week since. Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers A few weeks into the semester, my super awesome mom sent me a care package filled with goodies. I had been talking to her a few days before about how I needed to find some healthy snack options (okay, so it was more like complaining). Then she sends me a package full of snacks, which included a box of Fine Ground Sea Salt Almond Flour Crackers from Simple Mills. I immediately loved them without even tasting them simply because they were made from almond flour. When I actually ate them, I fell even more in love. The crackers are cute and small, so you feel like you’re eating a lot per serving size. They are crunchy and have just the right amount of salt. (Sometimes crackers can be overwhelmingly salty.) I’m excited to try the rest of their products! Follow Your Heart Cheeses These guys make vegan, dairy-free alternatives, and I just found them in my local Publix a month or so ago and have been blown away by the taste of their cheeses. Although they don’t label themselves as gluten-free on their products, the preface to their ingredients says “gluten-free” and the ingredients are all naturally gluten-free (PLUS there’s no allergen disclaimer that says it contains gluten), so I felt okay with giving them a try. Their Smoked Gouda Slices are THE BOMB! I’m a serious cheese lover, but my body isn’t always too happy with dairy, so I try to eat dairy-free as often as possible (hence my love of So Delicious). They also have Parmesan cheese, which I freaked out over. Each time I go into my Publix, it seems like there are more products to try from Follow Your Heart…and I will try them all. Kite Hill Almond Milk Cream Cheese Just take a second to re-read that title: cream cheese made from almond milk. The funny part about this find was that my mom had sent me a text in the morning about seeing this cream cheese somewhere, then later that day, while I was at (none other than) Publix, I found it in the cream cheese section (and I wasn’t actively looking for it either – I just glanced over and there it was). It’s actually a really yummy (and creative) alternative for cream cheese lovers who want a dairy-free option. I've kept a container in my fridge ever since. Silk Almond Milk Yogurt The highlights of my weekly grocery shopping experience are as follows: no line at the Boar’s Head counter, Publix having all the vegetables I want (and having non-gross/old options), and finding new dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free yogurts. IMAGINE MY DELIGHT when I was reaching for my usual So Delicious selections and noticed that Silk had new Almond Milk Yogurts. Sure, they’ve got vanilla and it’s super yummy and wonderful (because of those lil black speckles of vanilla, I’m convinced). But they also have Dark Chocolate Coconut, folks! It’s dangerously delicious and creamy and thick (I’m a fan of Greek-yogurt-style consistencies) and super chocolatey and tastes like indulging in a decadent dessert for breakfast. *drops mic* If you have any suggestions of awesome gluten-free products that I should try, comment below!
