I’ve been a fan of GoMacro bars for a little over a year now.
I was first introduced to these entirely vegan, USDA organic, and certified gluten-free bars during a family vacation at Disney World. My mom had bought Sunflower Butter + Chocolate and Banana + Almond Butter flavors for me. Obviously, the Sunbutter + Chocolate bar was to die for. Chocolate covered anything is going to be killer. The Banana + Almond Butter bar has an intense flavor of banana. My mom wasn’t a fan, but I thought it tasted fine. You definitely have to love the flavor of banana before eating that particular bar. The good news is that both of these bars are part of GoMacro’s “High Protein” collection, so they have 10 grams of protein! Since then, I was lucky enough to be gifted with a variety of mini bars. I was in GoMacro heaven. My sweet tooth was satisfied to say the least. My new favorite flavor is Granola + Coconut! This granola bar is what dreams are made of—a beautiful blend of oats, raisins, almond butter, coconut, and dates rolled together into the shape of a bar. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed both the Cherries + Berries and the Apples + Walnuts flavors. The names themselves don’t sound overly appealing (well, to me), but in order to give a fair assessment, I had to risk my taste buds and dive in. Thank the foods gods I did. Cherries + Berries, besides the cute name, is aptly titled “Sunny Uplift.” With only 4 grams of fat, this little rectangle is packed with antioxidants, vitamin C, iron, and fiber! The company currently has 11 flavors, so I could go on for a while. I suggest clicking here to see the complete list (and ordering some for yourself)! You may be able to find some flavors at your local health food store; click here to see a store locator. Beyond the bars, the company practices sustainability and giving back to the community. For example, GoMacro is the official nutrition bar sponsor for the Tour de Cure of the American Diabetes Association. The brand also encourages adopting a wholesome, macrobiotic diet. Basically, macrobiotics is about leading a balanced life: what, when, and how much you eat in addition to balancing the other aspects of your life. Buy a bar and adopt a lifestyle.
