My love affair with Squarebars has been steady for over a year now. These delicious little bars the size of sticky notes are loaded with chocolate then dipped in chocolate. Basically, they’re chocolate heaven. Plot twist: they’re incredibly healthy. They aren’t brownies or a sweet treat that you might feel guilty about eating—they just taste like that. Somehow, the masterminds of Sarah and Andrew have managed to pack 12 grams of plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, certified USDA organic deliciousness into a square. The company currently has five flavors: Mint, Cherry, Almond Spice, Coconut, and Chocolate Coated Crunch. I’ll admit, despite my deep love for the company and all of their flavors, my favorites are the Mint and Cherry bars. I’ve always been a fan of the mint and chocolate combo, so naturally, this bar has been awarded first place in my flavor palate. The Cherry bar comes in close at second place. I was actually hesitant to try this flavor at first; I like cherries, I love chocolate, but I wasn’t sure how the two would meld together. But meld they did. In my mouth. And I fell in love. The Cherry bar is really chewy – just another reminder that the few ingredients in Squarebars are all-natural. You taste everything. I have this problem discovering food/dish that I like eating, and then eating it all the time. Recently, I’ve had an affinity with making a bowl of So Delicious unsweetened vanilla yogurt with some honey to sweeten; then I load it with almonds, crunchy flax, and a Squarebar. H-E-A-V-E-N.
