That Time I Joined the Sunwarrior Tribe

5/31/2017

A while ago, my mom stumbled upon these protein bars while she was doing a little online food shopping. I snuck one (Salted Caramel) from her stash and immediately fell in love.

Meet Sunwarrior’s Sol Good Protein Bars. These babies are gluten-free, vegan, USDA organic, non-GMO, and soy-free. AND GET THIS! They’re packed with 17-19 grams of protein (depending on the flavor). The Sunwarrior Protein Blend is a combo of organic brown rice protein, pea protein, and quinoa protein. They use all the nutritious superfoods in these bars!

We’ll start with my favorite flavor: Cinnamon Roll. Honestly, this bar is pure heaven. Not only is it really cute with the lil swirl of “icing” on the front, but it’s also really tasty. Thanks to the addition of pecans and a hint of sunflower butter, the bar is nutty and buttery and tastes just like a cinnamon roll.

The Salted Caramel was another awesome flavor. It even had a few chunky bits of sea salt on the front of the bar. (You know, the perfect melding of salty and sweet?) Sunwarrior has mastered the art of having all the tag words (vegan, organic, non-GMO, and free of just about everything) while actually tasting good. AND their flavors actually taste like the foods they’re mimicking. SCORE FOR SUNWARRIOR!

Blueberry Blast was a tropical escape for my taste buds. All of their bars have a creamy smooth texture, but this one had little pockets of blueberries, which I really enjoyed. I also loved the subtle hints of vanilla and coconut. Truly tropical.

Lastly, there’s Coconut Cashew, which (for some reason) reminded me of a pie crust. Let me explain: The flavor (not the texture) tasted like a buttery pie crust, most likely because of the heavier presence of the cashews. I will say there wasn’t a stand out flavor in this bar, but it certainly wasn’t bad. I enjoyed the flavor, the burst of protein, and the flakes of coconut.

Basically, if you’re looking for a new protein bar to try, then look no further than Sunwarrior’s Sol Good Protein Bars. They’re the bomb.

I don't have to eat gluten free, but that sounded so good I have to try it!
