I’ve written about the geniuses over at GoMacro before. (In fact, here’s the blog post!) I’m happy to say that I won’t repeat myself in this post: I’ll be introducing their Thrive line! I was surprised by a box-full of flavors from GoMacro a few weeks ago, so I’ve been able to try almost their entire line. (I gave the Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip to my brother, and he devoured them an afternoon later with chocolate-covered thumbs up.) All flavors are USDA organic, non-GMO, gluten-free (of course!), soy-free, kosher, vegan, and low-glycemic.  I have to say my favorite was (predictably) Chocolate, Nuts, & Sea Salt. There’s only a rare percentage of chocolate-laced things that taste horrible, and this bar certainly wasn’t one of them. What was interesting about this flavor was that it wasn’t actually chocolate flavored; rather it had giant chunks of vegan chocolate chips (made from coconut sugar!). There were also giant bites of nuts, which I really enjoyed, and a subtle hint of sea salt. Honestly, these flavors work together so well. The bar even had 7 grams of plant-based protein! (Win win!!)  My second favorite flavor was Almond Apricot. The flavor reminded me of summer! The addition of pumpkin seeds was a great call (kudos to whoever thought of that!). I also love that GoMacro uses the freshest, simplest, locally grown ingredients. This bar contains almonds, apricots, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and their special “Ancient Seed Blend,” which is puffed quinoa, sprouted flax, and hemp hearts.  I also tried Caramel Coconut and enjoyed it, as one might expect. I really like how this bar in particular is hearty and filling. Not just a snack that you’re going to need a sandwich after, but something that could fuel you when you’re on the go. I was unsure if I’d like the Ginger Lemon flavor, but after the first bite, I was a fan. The flavors of ginger and lemon were refreshing and worked well together. I was also really nervous about Blueberry Lavender, and although it wasn’t my favorite, I did think the combo was creative. (Plus I loved the chunks of walnut and the lovely smell.)
